Education Campaign:
The Northgate Chamber of Commerce has intiated an Education Campaign that is designed to “create value” for the community by bringing together organizations to emphasize education in the Northgate community.
The Education Campaign consists of three components:
1) Helping Northgate Find Its Way
2) Lifetime of Literacy
3) Northgate Education Festival
This campaign is just one of many activities that reflect the chamber’s vision of serving as the “heart of Northgate” in action.
Helping Northgate Find Its Way:
Over 20 businesses participated in the kickoff of the Northgate Chamber's adoption of Northgate Way by collecting books for local schools and removing over 200 lbs of debris along Northgate Way. There were special visitors such as Clifford The Big Red Dog, Curious George and other Scholastic Book characters.
The Northgate Chamber of Commerce has “adopted” Northgate Way from Meridian to Roosevelt. To kick off the adoption, on August 3 the Northgate Chamber sponsored a cleanup event called “Helping Northgate Find its Way.”
The Neighborhood Matching Fund provided funds to for the event as part of the City of Seattle’s Neighborhood Matching Fund – Small Sparks Grant. Small Sparks encourages community members to use their personal interests and creativity to “ignite imagination, create community and make a difference” in neighborhoods across the City. The Ramada Inn and Berkshire Grill donated $200 to sponsor the event, which was also very much appreciated.
